    Thanks much. This is great.

  • Thanks for sharing. I’ve read before that model railways, ships in a bottle and such were so popular in the UK because they were a sort of PTSD therapy for veterans, back before PTSD was recognised. It’s not something I ever really think about but sometimes our commenters and bloggers mention that their hobby relaxes them, too. There’s something relaxing about making tiny worlds for some reason.

Some of us are always trying to get the miniatures hobby recognised in wider culture, either as a fun activity or something more serious. It would be kind of funny if the wider culture started to take notice all by itself, but seeing the hobby as a great form of art therapy. That’s not how I’ve seen any of us try to pitch it! But I guess that’s how these things usually go.

Also the lady in the wedding dress is named after Edgar Rice Burrough’s Martian Princess Deja Thoris… the guy is even a geek.

    And then there’s this Instagram.

No word on whether it’s therapy for the photographer, but those are some damn good photos.

It constantly amazes me (in an appaling way) that a group of men can be threatened enough by a person WHO LIKES TO WEAR DRESSES to beat him badly enough to cause brain damage. So tragic.
